Dr. Doft Doesn’t Listen to What the Client is Saying

Doft Plastic Surgery review

Diego shares that Dr. Doft is very misleading. He says he doesn’t have much experience with doctors and their billing processes. So he asked Dr. Doft if the procedure will be covered by his insurance and she told him yes. She answered very quickly and Diego attributed it to her experience.

However, when the 2-min procedure was done, they handed him a bill of $1,000 saying it wasn’t covered in his insurance. Diego says that Dr. Doft should have listened to him when he was asking questions and made sure they were on the same page.

After that, she didn’t answer any of his calls or messages and the staff kept urging him to pay. What a horrible case of miscommunication.

Doft Plastic Surgery Botched Lip Fillers and Gave Terrible Service

Doft Plastic Surgery review

Amber shares that she would never return to Dr. Doft’s office again. She had visited the clinic for lip fillers and she was nervous because it was her first cosmetic procedure.

Hence, she had a lot of questions but Melissa wasn’t comforting at all. She put numbing cream on the reviewer’s face and left the room to talk with the reviewer’s friend who also had a procedure.

Amber’s friend told her that Dr. Doft had taken her to a separate room to take “Before and After” pictures but Dr. Doft did nothing like this with Amber.

Also, after giving the injections, Dr. Doft kept saying “there is just a little left” and made several more adjustments to her lips, giving some filler to the bottom lip, then the top lip, and the corners.

When Amber shared her experience with other doctors they said that Dr. Melissa Doft might have done this to avoid storing whatever was left in the syringe and avoid blocking out time to see her later.

Her poor experience at Doft Plastic Surgery didn’t end here. When the procedure finished, the staff handed her a consent form they “forgot” to give her before.

Amber shares that she felt very uneasy and regretted the decision of seeing Dr. Melissa Doft immediately. Later, her lips developed hard clumps with ugly bumps, giving her an uneven smile.

She doesn’t trust Dr. Doft anymore. Also, she has visited many experts but none of them could fix this botched procedure. She was extremely disappointed with the service and results.

“I was Seriously Ripped Off”

This is a brief complaint by a client who points out that Dr. Melissa doesn’t know how to give fillers. They complain that Dr. Doft ripped them off.

Doft Plastic Surgery (By Dr. Melissa Doft) Review Verdict

Multiple reviews complain about the quality of service available at Doft Plastic Surgery. NYC has plenty of plastic surgeons. Some are like Dr. Sam Rizk, botching surgeries and using paid PR to make sure no one hears about them. Then, there are surgeons like Dr. Melissa Doft who simply don’t know the value of effective service.

If you are looking for a surgeon who listens to you and tries to understand your vision, this is not the right option for you.

Complaints indicate that Dr. Doft doesn’t listen to her clients and makes them feel unwelcome through her behavior. Certainly, you don’t expect such service from a New York-based surgeon.

    BOTCHED RHINOPLASTY

+ PROS: Dr. Melissa Doft has a beautiful office with a lovely front desk person named Michele. Much to my surprise my results were AWEFUL.
    - CONS: I had a revision rhinoplasty on February 26th, 2020 and my results are AWEFUL. My nose is worse than prior to the procedure. I have a trail of emails and photos corresponding with Dr. Doft stating my rhinoplasty results were not satisfactory. She responded “to be patient and wait one year for the swelling to fully subside”. Well the year passed and I went to see Dr. Doft and she agreed my nose needs to be re-done. Needless to say I am not a happy camper. Dr Doft agreed my nose should be been reinforced differently to hold it in place. No way will I allow Dr. Doft to re-do it. My motto in life is to “do-it right the first time”. If she was not skilled enough to fix it correctly the first time there is no way I will subject myself to taking that risk. Hence, I threw $13,000 out the window and I have an AWEFUL nose. It veers off to the left and my nostrils are asymmetrical. So much for the 5 star reviews and the fancy uptown address. I went for two other opinions from well known NYC plastic surgeons and they all agreed it was a terrible job. ????

  3. Also “saving” contents of open filler for injection another day is not FDA approved and constitutes malpractice. Fillers lack preservatives, and unused dosages are exposed to bacteria contamination. Risking patient health and using a product that may cease to be effective is unconscionable.

For the public good, please stop comparing and promoting shady medical/asthetic services over those of ethical medical professionals.

    • As a middle-aged womam, I found Dr. Doft to be an incredible, caring, qualified and experienced double board qualified plastic surgeon and general surgeon. Her office manager is likewise amazingly kind, thoughtful and organized. Dr. Doft preformed facelift, neckift and upper and lower eyelid surgery on me with excellent results.

The analysis of these complaints is materially misleading.

For example: It’s the patient’s responsibility to understand the deductible and co-pay obligations, the out-of-pocket maximum and how much was spent towards those limits. The complaint about fillers is about cost not artistry.
