Merrill (also known as Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc), formerly known as Merrill Lynch, is an American investment banking and wealth management branch of Bank of America. Both organizations and B of A Financial Instruments, its investment bank arm, participate in premier brokerage and broker-dealer operations.

The firm is based in New York City and initially filled part of the Metropolitan Place complex in Midtown. Merrill employs nearly 14,000 financial planners and oversees $2.8 trillion in client funds ($3.4 trillion for World Wealth and Investment Management).

Merrill Edge, an affiliate for financial and associated services, notably call center consulting, is also run by the corporation.

Before 2009, the corporation was publicly traded and owned by the public. On the fourteenth of September 2008, at the peak of the 2007-2008 financial crisis, Merrill Lynch & Co. decided to be purchased by Bank of America, the same week as Lehman Brothers was granted permission to fail.

History

On January 6, 1914, Charles E. Merrill established Charles E. Merrill & Co. at 7 Wall Street, which was located in New York City. Merrill’s buddy, Edmund C. Lynch, followed him a few months later, and the firm’s name was officially altered into Merrill, Lynch & Co. in 1915.

The firm’s name featured a period after Merrill and Lynch at the time, but this was eliminated in 1938. Winthrop H. Smith became a partner in the firm in 1916.

Fenner & Beane, a New Orleans-based financial services & commodity firm, amalgamated with Merrill Lynch, E. A. Pierce, and Cassatt in 1941. Fenner & Beane was the second most prominent trading firm in the United States throughout the 1930s.

Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Beane was named after the United firm, which became the undisputed leader in brokerage services in the United States. Here are services provided by the company i.e. Merrill Private Wealth Management.

Martin Gregor Disclosures: BrokerCheck, FINRA, And SEC Reports

According to BrokerCheck reports, only one disclosure has been filed against Martin Gregor. The customer claimed that improper investments were made on his behalf. The clients have demanded a $10,000.00 damage account. McDonald’s Investments reviewed this issue and decided that it was completely without merit, according to brokers.

Financial Advisors often take down their client disputes from FINRA’s Public database through Disclosure Expungement. Even law firms provide expungement services to FAs so that they can hide or remove their client disputes and maintain a clean record. So the lack of any disclosures on BrokerCheck doesn’t necessarily mean that the broker hasn’t had any disputes in the past.
