We hired MHC Remodeling Pros to redo our kitchen and two bathrooms. They used 1/4 inch sheetrock next to our walls that were 1/2 inch sheet rock and tried to shim the sheetrock and add mud to build it up. Our shower floor was perfectly sloped and they had someone come in and build it up with thin set, which we was not in the plan and they had to send her back out the next day to chisel it out. Once shower floor was placed, the shower would not drain and it backed up all over our floor and into the adjacent guest bathroom. They had to pull that floor out and redo it. They said they would reimburse us for the additional floor tile we had to buy and then they wouldn’t. They built us cabinet drawers that wouldn’t open or close without a pry bar. They broke my bathroom mirror and said they’d reimburse us for it, and then wouldn’t. They began work on the kitchen and made cabinets that were not the design we discussed, using scraps of wood that were stained from another project and made with poor quality wood. We had to release them from the project and find a new contractor. They would not return our $500 appliance lifts that were to be installed in the cabinets. They would not come and pick up their trash and they would not provide us with itemized receipts for what each of our payments had covered. They did say that we could come and pick up our countertops and when our contractor went to get those, one of the countertops had been cut out of spite. They had not even begun fabricating our countertops yet because we didn’t even have cabinets installed yet. We have lost close to $30,000 on this project and have very little work completed by MHC that was actually done correctly.
