Riway International is an MLM company run by Lim Boon Hong. Based in Singapore, they have gained notoriety for making false and misleading claims about their medical products.
Their lies and deceitful marketing efforts have caused many people to suffer various side effects and lose their saving.
While the company markets its medical products as “food supplements”, the sellers of Riway International Singapore products tend to make ridiculous claims about their uses.
One of their popular claims is that their product can treat or cure cancer.
As a result, Lim Boon Hong’s company has received warnings from multiple governments including the Government of Singapore and the Malaysian Government.
The following Riway International review will help you understand why you should avoid joining this Pyramid scheme and how dangerous it truly is:
What is Riway International Singapore?

The company primarily sells two products:

While the company makes ridiculous claims about the effectiveness of both of these products, the following Riway International review will focus mainly on Purtier Placenta as it is more popular.
It’s worth noting that the company doesn’t share any valuable information about its products on its website such as their composition.
Instead, you get a large list of claims and praises such as how Purtier Placenta is the “Rolls-Royce of health supplements”.
Lim Boon Hong: Founder & CEO @ Riway International Singapore
Lim Boon Hong is the Chief Executive Officer of Riway International MLM and is responsible for its growth as well as all the shady activities.
Under his leadership, the company has succeeded in entering multiple Asian markets including Japan, Philippines and Malaysia. However, at the same time, his company has received severe warnings from multiple government authorities including the Philippines FDA, the UAE government and others.
On the website of Riway company, you wouldn’t find any useful information on Lim Boon Hong. It only shares some fluff about how Lim’s business acumen and management skills have helped him establish the company as a market leader.
However, there is no information available on the professional history of Lim Boon Hong. Similarly, the MLM company fails to share any information about his qualifications.
It only says that he has a “determined conviction” so everyone could have the chance to lead an extraordinary life of freedom.

Riway International MLM Structure – How the Pyramid Scheme Operates
There is not much information available on the the Riway International MLM structure. The company is quite secretive.
Still, I was able to find out some compensation-related info on their MLM scheme.
The company pays you to recruit new members but how much commission you get depends on how much your receruits spend and which membership packages they sign up for.
A Silver Riway member earns around $27 for recruiting a Silver member, around $54 for recruiting a Gold member, around $102 for a Platinum member and around $176 for recruiting a Diamond member.
Gold members earn the following commissions:
- $30 for recruiting a Silver member
- $61 for recruiting a Gold member
- $115 for recruiting a Platinum member
- $198 for recruiting a Diamond member
Platinum members earn:
- $34 for recruiting a Silver member
- $68 for recruiting a Gold member
- $127 for recruiting a Platinum member
- $219 for recruiting a Diamond member
The pay structure for Diamond members is the same as for Platinum members.
To join the company would need to purchase one of these packages:
- Silver package ($375)
- Gold package ($755)
- Platinum package ($1425)
- Diamond package ($2450)
Also, the Riway International MLM structure includes matching bonuses and residual commissions as well. Depending on the package you bought, you can residual commission ranging from 8% (from one recruit) to 10% (from six recruits).
Certainly, the company tries to make itself extremely attractive. However, its products are not what they claim to be.

Purtier Placenta – The Controversial Supplement by Riway International and Lim Boon Hong
To understand why Lim Boon Hong’s company is so dangerous, you should first get familiar with its notorious supplement: Purtier Placenta.
According to its description, it is a supplement which combines deer placenta stem cells with various natural components. Apparently, it used a unique freezing technology to preserve living cells and maintain their biological effectiveness.
Furthermore, Lim Boon Hong and his company claimed that Purtier Placenta has licenses in 14 countries for being a safe, non-slaughtering animal product. They also claimed that the product didn’t cause any adverse effects.
The company marketed the product with the claim of having 100% natural ingredients with many rare components.
Some of the diseases Riway International claimed Purtier Placenta can treat were:
- Kidney disease
- Cardiac disease
- Lung disease
And many others.
Riway International further claimed that Purtier Placenta can treat various skin problems such as tanning, melasma, congenital dark skin, scars and more.
That’s not all.
Lim Boon Hong’s firm told people that the supplement was suitable for those who want to prolong youth, improve their sex lives and maintain menstruation.
Basically, the company was promoting the product as a cure-all which could treat anything you could imagine including various serious ailments such as Diabetes and Cancer.
Their ridiculous claims landed them in a lot of trouble and the next section of this Lim Boon Hong review will shed light on how much regulatory action they faced from different governments:
Singaporean Government Warns Lim Boon Hong’s Riway International
Riway International is based in Singapore and a government authority of the Asian country recently issued a warning to it.
Health Sciences Authority is a statutory board under the Ministry of Health of the Government of Singapore. It is responsible for applying medical, pharmaceutical and scientific expertise to protect and advance public health.
HSA has ordered Lim Boon Hong’s company to stop making misleading claims to the public.
They issued the warning after noticing how Riway’s sellers were claiming Purtier Placenta could treat or cure cancer.
The Health Sciences Authority has told the company to educate its sellers not to make false claims while promoting the product. False advertising of health products would make them liable to prosecution. In case of a conviction, they might go to jail for 2 years and/or face a fine of S$5,000.
Like I highlighted earlier, Lim Boon Hong and his company claims that their supplement, Purtier Placenta, can treat diseases by using live cell therapy.
HSA has said in its warning that there is no clear scientific evidence to back up these claims. Furthermore, there is no evidence that oral stem cell therapy can prevent or treat diseases because digestive enzymes of the stomach destroy the live stem cells.
Apparently, Riway International was referencing a 2008 laboratory report to back up its claims. The company was using the report to claim that Purtier Placenta was safe for consumption and effective. HSA said that using that outdated report was “misleading”.
Such use of a lab report to make false claims is punishable by a fine and/or a jail sentence.
The Health Sciences Authority said that the report doesn’t provide any evidence on the product’s safety. It only shows the results of a single test on a sample of the product.
The test was only for the presence of heavy metals in Purtier Placenta.
HSA has ordered Riway International’s sellers to stop using that lab report as a marketing material.
Considering how the Riway CEO, Lim Boon Hong, is a Singaporean, the warning certainly had an impact on the company.
Philippines FDA Issues a Warning Against Purtier Placenta and Riway International
In 2018, the Food and Drug Administration of Philippines issued a warning against Riway Singapore’s notorious supplement, Purtier Deer Placenta.
According to the documentation, the company made many misleading, deceptive and false claims in its marketing material. The FDA said that Purtier Deer Placenta is only a registered food supplement with no approved therapeutic claims.
It highlighted in its warning that this supplement does not prevent or cure any disease conditions.

Media Reports Exposing Lim Boon Hong and Riway International
The outrageous claims of Lim Boon Hong and his company played a huge role in their success. There are many people who suffer from serious illnesses and they are desperate for any cure.
So, when those desperate people learned about the claims of Purtier Placenta, many of them bought the product immediately.
This included many celebrities and notable personalities as well.
A few years ago, Taiwanese politician Yu Tian’s daughter had a recurrence of rectal cancer. The cancer cells had spread to her liver and lungs. To prevent cancer from spreading more and get better, Yu Tian’s wife spent millions of dollars on Riway International supplements.
They heard about the product’s claims of treating cancer so they bought large quantities of the same.
When the media reached out to the company’s sellers, they proudly told them that Purtier Placenta can cure many diseases.
It is rumored that Yu Tian spent millions on Riway International products to prevent his daughter’s cancer cells from spreading. However, the supplements didn’t do anything.
When the media reached out to Riway company executives, they told them that the product comes from New Zealand. Moreover, when the reports questioned them about the various side effects, the executive told them that it’s normal and everybody’s body reacts differently.
Here’s a video of a journalist talking to a Riway company seller about their notorious product:
“Side Effects, No Positive Results and Waste of Money”
After the revelation about the Taiwanese politician, interest of journalists into the shady business of Lim Boon Hong’s company increased substantially.
Soon, a series of reports came out exploring how Riway International Singapore was promoting its products and how it affected others’ lives.
One report uncovered how a testimonial provider of the notorious product spent a lot of money on it but didn’t get any results. The report highlighted that a person was promoting Purtier Placenta in direct selling events and claiming it helped treat her friends’ many problems.
However, when reports contacted the said friend, she revealed that the product didn’t yield any results.
Journalists learned about another victim of Riway International MLM later on. Guo Meizhu was suffering from breast cancer and had to receive chemotherapy for treatment.
When she learned about the claims of Deer Placenta and how it can “cure” cancer, she immediately got interested and spent hundreds of thousands of yuan.
As she spent more money on the product, she learned about the MLM structure and become a downline for her Riway company seller. However, when she began taking the pills, herpes zoster began developing around her waist and buttocks.
Purtier Placenta caused her multiple polyps in her large intestine.
Her husband had begun taking the pills alongside her and he faced similar problems. These are not the only instances when Lim Boon Hong’s product has caused people to suffer serious side-effects:
When a Riway International Supplement Put a Marketer’s Life in Danger
The proof of how Riway International Singapore put many lives at risk is one of their largest ex-promoters: Gao Guahua.
Gao Guohua is a famous supplementary education teacher who rose to popularity because of La Tongue. He has become extremely popular in Taiwan as a guru.
Some time ago, he began taking Purtier Placenta capsules to treat atopic dermatitis. Gao was taking 3 pills each morning, noon and evening.
Instead of getting relief, he got more ailments.
The Riway supplement caused him to develop erythema on his entire body. He gave interviews to various media outlets with photos of his erythema and complained that Riway took 2.3 million yuan from him.
In his interviews, he said that it’s extremely itchy and painful.
After going through the above points, it’s clear that Riway Singapore is a dangerous pyramid scheme and Lim Boon Hong doesn’t feel any remorse for its horrendous impact on countless lives.
The company preys on people suffering from serious illnesses including Cancer, Diabetes and heart disease. It has received warnings from medical regulators of Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines as well as Dubai.
Certainly, they are extremely dangerous.
You should avoid buying into Riway International’s products. There are plenty of MLM scams which keep operating and preying on consumers by hiding the mention of the various warnings they have received.
Don’t trust the claims of Riway International and Lim Boon Hong. They have received warnings from multiple government authorities for lying to consumers. Avoid investing with them or buying their products.
