It was not my first choice to go with this company for cleaning services. But, most of the local companies send a team, rather than a single individual and I do not want more than one person in my home with me and my pets.
Despite my suspicions that this was not what it represented to be on its face, I gave it a shot. Figured, if I wasn’t satisfied I would not have to continue. Wrong. It has been a nightmare.
Purchased a voucher and scheduled for a specific date. No one was available. So, I demanded a refund. Ultimately, it was granted. I was then ‘given’ a free voucher to schedule a cleaning as an incentive to try again.
I scheduled a cleaning with a specific cleaner. My appointment was scheduled with someone else – someone that had only three reviews, two of which were rather negative. I figured I would give her a chance, all the same. I had disclosed that I had dogs in the initial process. Yet, it sent a cleaner that was terrified of dogs. Not a good match at all.
Two days before the appointment I got repeated notifications that I had to put a credit card on file in order for the appointment to be confirmed. I repeatedly inquired as to the reason for such requirement since the voucher was already in place. I was assured, multiple times, in writing (emails), that there would be no charge. It was just a policy requirement. Lie.
As soon as it was entered, the company ran a charge of $49 – for what, I have no idea. And, I had no idea that it had done that until a week later when I checked activity on the card.
Meanwhile, the cleaner arrived, brought her own supplies, but, for the most part, used mine, including my vacuum. And, the cleaning was so sub par it was hard to fathom.
All I asked for during the three hours was to clean two rooms: my kitchen and my office. In the end, she did not dust or wipe down any shelving or anything in the kitchen, including countertops and countertop appliances. The cabinets were not wiped down. I watched as she mopped an area of the floor, then immediately put a gel pro mat, which absorbs water, back down on the wet floor. Nonsensical. (I picked it up. It took a full week to dry out.)
There were many areas of the floor which were not addressed. The kitchen sink was not wiped down. The rugs appeared to not have been vacuumed, though I did hear and see her using my vacuum. I vacuumed again after she left. Turns out, she had triggered a safety feature on the vacuum which shut off the beater bar. So, fairly nothing was picked up. I reset it.
I let the company know about the poor level of service, but, asked for nothing in return – just wanted it to know. It said that the only way to make a complaint and get a refund, which I had not asked for, nor was entitled since the voucher was provided to me.
I got several notifications that there were scheduled appointments pending. I went in and cancelled them only to find that the company expected that I pay $163+ dollars for the services provided and cancelling a ‘membership’ to which I never agreed to join.
To this day, it insists that it is owed not just the $49 it took without my authorization, but, the $163+, as well. There are emails from the same ‘person’ telling me that I would not be charged anything, yet, it ignores that fact. It refuses to reverse the $49 and demands the $163+. Insane. No one in this area charges more than $100 for three hours of cleaning services – unless it is a post-construction cleaning, which this was not. And, frankly, the level of service provided was not worth the $49 already paid. It was pathetic.
I was right to be suspicious. My gut was correct. Don’t even consider this agency. There is no reason for a customer to be asked to make a commitment to ongoing services before it has established that the services provided are adequate. And, deception and lies are its operational norms.

My house has 3600 square feet and unless there is something in that commercial that stipulates an average size of house for $19.00, then you will not be getting a very clean house. I have had Merry Maids clean my house to the tune of $265, I was about to have bilateral knee surgery and unable to clean it myself. The first time they cleaned, I noticed that they did not remove anything off of the furniture, they merely dusted around it, after surgery I had them out again and this time asked if they could remove objects, dust and put them back, I was told that I would have to tell the women that came out how I wanted it done. Needless to say I was dumbfounded that I would have to tell someone how to dust. I keep my house picked up, is all I want is someone to dust, clean the bathrooms, vacuum and mop. If I have to tell somebody how to clean, I’m already in trouble. If this company is doing a thorough job, they can hardly clean an 800 square foot home for this amount of money. Not being insured or bonded would definitely be a deal breaker.

I should have read the fine print first. The good thing is I paid using PayPal rather than my credit card. Sure, the service sounds good. That is how they hook you with a $19 voucher. After you read the fine print, you learn there is a $49 monthly membership fee in addition to the cleaning charge. How to “guesstimate” the cleaning charge is to enter your zip code. For example, mine is 94066. The minimum hourly rate is $22 per hour. So, in addition to the $49 monthly membership fee you pay the cleaning fee assigned by your zip code. If my minumum hourly rate is $22 per hour and I pay for three hours cleaning, then I can expect to pay a minimum of $66 per cleaning. Again, that is the minimum price quoted for my area. In all likelihood, I can easily see the fee being $30 per hour which would increase my standard cleaning fee to $90 per cleaning. Even at $25 per hour it would be $75 per cleaning. I do not like the fact that there is no number to call. Also, if you look at what a standard cleaning includes, it does not list mopping floors. Nor is that listed under their premium services. One would think that mopping floors is a standard item, similar to vacuuming. Still, I don’t like surprises and to learn that I am being charged for a premium service, would not make me happy. In the event you cancel your $49 monthly membership fee before six months you are charged the full price of a cleaning. There are too many unclear items in the contract that make me feel uncomfortable. That said before using my $19 voucher I asked for a refund from PayPal.
