According to a Florida Division of Insurance Fraud arrest report, something about two automobile wrecks didn’t makeup when investigators discovered more than $200,000 in insurance claims for crashes with no injuries.
Jonathan Gualberto, 24, was arrested by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Tuesday due to suspicious circumstances. Insurance fraud investigators believe he faked the crashes, the first of which occurred on October 22, 2009, in Boca Raton.
According to detectives, the incident occurred when Jonathan Gualberto gave his car to another individual, who subsequently collided with another automobile containing two of Gualberto’s acquaintances. According to investigators, there were three more individuals in his car, including Jonathan Gualberto. However, no one was injured when Boca Raton police arrived.
According to police, the half-dozen persons then went to two clinics, each of which had ties to an organized staged accident ring.
